The rapid proliferation of kinetic small Uncrewed Surface Vessels (sUSVs) is expected to continue, driven by the successes of Ukrainian sUSVs and the availability of global open-source resources. As of March 2024, Ukrainian sUSVs were responsible for disabling 11 of the 24 Russian ships in the Black Sea, demonstrating that modern warship defenses may be vulnerable to swarms of low-cost sUSV systems.
